• Liz was a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for 10 years

• Liz taught children with Severe Cognitive Impairments and made it her mission to make sure they were learning, not just being babysat

• Liz published a Christian children's book when she was younger

• Liz went on a mission trip to Ghana to help children with special needs.

• Liz is determined to make changes in legislation so that people with serious mental illnesses can receive the same quality and cost of services as people with medical illnesses

• Liz is also determined to educate the public about mental health and decrease the stigma
